I've been using the iPhone headphones only because they come with, and for the mic/sound control. Now they're starting to go and I'm looking for a pair of similar earphones with mic/control to replace, as I didn't see the point in spending $40 on a pair of bad earbuds.
The thing is, I have trouble keeping them in my ears, so I was trying to find something that goes around it. The first choice was Powerbeats by Dre as they have the style I need with a control&mic pod, but I understand the marketing hype. Also, reading reviews from various places, another issue with them were DOA's and poor assembly (parts breaking, control coming loose, and whatnot).
I'm not sound engineer, or audiophile, nor is my budget too big, but I was looking for a pair of similar earbuds thats sound at least decent since there is no need for me to purchase studio quality earphones (if.. those exist?).
In a nutshell:
A pair of earphones with this style -

with a control / mic thats compatible with the iPhone 4. Quality at LEAST better than the Apple ones that are now crapping out on me (the balance of the music is shifting to the left side).

I got the CD out by spamming the CD-out key thing
Now all it does is show a blinking map on a white background, with a question sign inside of it. Im afraid windows overwrote macOS, to be honest im boiling right now because im terrified all my schoolwork, files, photo and everything is gone if i try to reinstall macOS. Does anyone know what to do? :(

I recently bought a new PowerMac, and I really don't like the Apple's Keyboards and Mighty Mouse. Since I don't have a use for them, I might as well sell them to someone who does.
The keyboard and Mighty Mouse are brand new, never used, and never even removed from their packaging.
They can either be purchased seperately, or together. If you buy them together, I've added an extra 10% discount.
Brand new Apple Keyboard - 14% off Apple's price = $25
Brand new Mighty Mouse - 10% off Apple's price = $45
Buy them together for $60 - a 25% discount!
Free shipping on both items.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Payment by PayPal, and shipping in N. America only.

Hey there,
I'm selling because I'm totally portable now (loaded 15" Powerbook!) I have a 989 feedback rating on Ebay if you need selling references. Everything works perfectly -- no dead pixels etc.
$2200 for the Powermac + AppleCare
$1050 for each 23" Display.
$4200 for the set.
It's on craigslist right now (hoping for a local quick buyer) but it will go to Ebay Tuesday morning if no one bites. Thanks!!!

AH, Jetpac!
Many an hour as a child hunched over my Spectrum 128K keyboard.
Still have the cassete from 1983.
Recorded twice on each side!, and proper hard plastic glass.

I would suggest looking in the Chronicle of Higher Education. It's not free, but many libraries have subscriptions.

We have the following problem with newly purchased Macs.
A department is using Windows Server 2008. Windows computers on their network mount specific folders from the server, which get mapped as drives D, E, F, G, etc.
Some files (that are created in Excel or AutoCAD) use links to other files on the networked drives. For example an Excel file can pull information from the "Customers.xls" file on drive "G". This works great under Windows, but Excel on the Mac cannot find the files.
We think this happens because under OS X, the specific network folder from the Windows server gets mounted as the folder's name. While under Windows it gets mounted with a letter from the alphabet.
Excel under Windows stores links using those network drive letters. And Excel on the Mac has problems accessing the linked content, since it cannot see drives with letter names.
Similar thing happens under AutoCAD. AutoCAD is also looking for linked content on drives with letter names.
Is anyone using a similar setup? Is anyone working Excel files stored on network drives, that contain links to other networked files?
Any ideas on how this problem could be solved?

Bob Bishop, co-founder of Apple's R&D lab, will be the keynote speaker at KansasFest 2011. Bob is part of the early history of the Apple computer and has developed numerous commercial software titles, worked side-by-side with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, written a book on assembly language programming, and published articles in most Apple II magazines. Bob has lived what most of us only dream about, and he has the stories to prove it.
In 1976, Dr. Bishop knocked on Steve Jobs' door and ended up owning an Apple I. Soon, he bought one of the first Apple II computers. A few months later, the first graphical Apple II games, like Rocket Pilot and Star Wars, came from Bob's keyboard before Apple had even finished the documentation. Later, Bob brought speech to the personal computer with Apple-Talker and Apple-Listener. In 1978, Bob and Steve Wozniak founded Apple's research and development division. His program Apple-Vision was included on DOS 3.3 master disks, demonstrating the audio and video capabilities of the Apple II. Even after retiring in 1981, he continued using, programming, and writing about the entire Apple II line.
The stories do not end with the Apple II. Bob has hosted a radio show using the "Mr. Logic" personality, written essays, founded a comic book club, designed a computer programming language, and written online riddles. Alas, Bob has not yet founded the fanciful "Subroutine Shack" stores "for supplying software components." Today, he lives in California, still "plays with computers," and laments that his Web site (http://bob-bishop.awardspace.com/) is forever under construction.
KansasFest the 22nd annual Apple II conference, is set for July 19th through July 24th at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. KansasFest was originally hosted by Resource Central and has been brought to you by the KFest Committee since 1995. Any and all Apple II users, fans, and friends are invited to attend this year's event. Registration details will be announced on the KansasFest Web site in early 2011. For photos, schedules, and presentations from past year's events, please visit the event's official Web site at http://www.kansasfest.org/

So I'm getting an iMac tomorrow, but I'm not sure which is the best suited.
So here's all the relevant information in a nutshell:
I use Adobe Fireworks on a daily basis. Sometimes I use Adobe Illustrator. I rarely use Photoshop.
I plan to use Coda and Transmit a lot (I like to submit content to the web).
I might use Final Cut Pro or Adobe Flash to make movies and flash, but do not really take this into consideration.
Here are all the iMac models:
http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/imac/select?mco=MjIwNTQyNjE
I think of all of the, I should get the $1499 21.5in model. Agreed? I mean, does anyone regret getting a 27in model? Does it make things more of a hassle, navigating in a screen with such a huge screen? I mean, I don't want to spend too much time moving my mouse to click on something on the side like a vector tool (I'm still working on memorizing my hotkeys).
Anyways, so what do you guys think?

Perfect work around for no AAC support (protected and 'open') on Tivo. Great Job by the author. Yeah, I had a little issue with getting it to work, but that was firewall related and me not doing the right thing (reading a readme file.... who needs one, right?), but it seems stable!!

As the owner of one pissy G5 and more than a few G4's I would suggest this: Since the P-Ram reset did not work, pull the ram. And fire up the G5 and see what you get. If you still get lights and sounds you have something to go with. From there reinsert each ram stick one at a time and see what you get. Macs are nothing at all if finicky on ram. I have found that out myself time and again from my Wally to my DA to this G5.

I watched the Ghost Armor guy apply that shield wet at the mall, and definitely thought that was easy and a nice way to go since you can slide it around. But the dry shields are really easy to apply as long as you are patient and careful. So I am not sure it is worth the drying time etc...

Golden rule: do not buy no name RAM. Most of it won't work.
Well known brands like Crucial/Micron, Corsair, Kingston, Hynix, Samsung, Infineon etc. will work. RAM must be low density (ask seller before buying in case of any doubts).

how to i set it up with 10.6.7?
Sorry, how to setup what..the router or the file sharing?
File sharing, open Preferences, then Sharing. There is a checkbox called File Sharing. Then select the details/locations that you want to share.
Router, you'll plug it all in then go to http://192.168.1.1, and login with the details in your user manual. (Can't remember the original details). Then a web-based interface will guide you through setup.

Safer, really, as you eliminate the risk of being hit by a bus, in a car accident, mugged, robbed, stabbed, shot, in a train derailment, etc...
Yeah, just like the house blowing up, a car crashing into my house and the computer going on fire :p hahaha. Seriously I was talking about spending money when mentioning it was safer.

Hi,
So I have an Seagate 300GB external HD, formatted to Fat32(DOS) and a folder labeled Video. It works just fine when I plug into PS3, it is recognized and will play my files.
I also have another Western Digital 500GB external HD, formatted same way, same folder inside. But my ps3 will not recognize this one? Any ideas?
Thanks!!!
