Okay, I'm in over my head. Look like I need to first learn about frames. Mods, you can lock or delete this thread. Sorry about that. I thought I was close to finishing. Little did I know!!

I installed dual video cards in my 06 Mac Pro a couple of weeks ago and the GPU/HDD fan runs at higher RPMs continually now. I'm guessing its just the mac pro increasing airflow to prevent overheating.

Got to St Davids at 8:30 and there was a queue of about 40 people at the apple store. Went to Currys digital and had a 32gb 3G iPad in my hands within 5 mins!!

If I can free up enough disk space I'll be at Rockingham!
I'll be running over after work, but should make it sometime around six.

I can't figure out what is going on here. When I close my pb briefly after i open it i need to push a key to wake it up. But when I close it for a while it wakes up on its own and the keyboard light turns on. Any ideas as to whats going on.

That depends on the applications. Some applications broke in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard for example, and shortly after 10.6 became publicly available at the end of August developers released updates for their Leopard compatible software to make it also run in Snow Leopard.
When Lion is finally released, it will have less incompatible applications anyway, as many developers and non-developers are testing 10.7 right now.

Anyone know how to get the best quality feed from my Mac's Nvidia GT120 into a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card in a PC?
Just adapting DVI > HDMI and going into the Blackmagic's HDMI in does not work because the Blackmagic apparently only supports "broadcast resolutions" (I called them and asked).
What's the best way to split a feed out of my Mac that is either a broadcast resolution or the best way to convert a computer resolution (much more than broadcast) to one that can go into the Intensity Pro?
The Mac should detect the HDMI device as an HDTV, and offer you resolutions of 720p, 1080i, and/or 1080p. If you select one of the specific "HD" resolutions, and not random other resolutions (even the seemingly identical 1280x720 and 1920x1080!) it should work.
Also, make sure your refresh rate is 60 or 30 Hz.

As much as I want Apple to speak up and address this, I can see their point of view, why draw attention to this issue any more than already is.
If they release a fix then it will just go away, if they don't I guess they are relying on the "oh well, I'll deal with it" of most people out here...

I think this was the case with the older Macbook Pros too. When will Apple learn?

Personally i would keep the new battery and not worry about it. Under the circumstances they provided you with the closest replacement.

Has anyone at the show done 'About This Mac' on a MacBook Air?
I would have thought that the new trackpad options would need new software, but I'm guessing someone would have noticed by now.
(Unless they are just using a bespoke 10.5.1 for the show models, and 10.5.2 will come out when they are actually shipped...?)

Action adventure. More like Max Payne x Silent Hill hybrid.
Sounds cool :)
The story will keep you playing, but the ending is typical of the genre. Left wide open for a sequel.
Yeah, I can imagine. Stuff like that happens a lot in films as well. Cliff-hanging ending almost.

I think the issue is the iTunes account. As long as you are using the same iTunes account you can sync as many iPhones as you want. In fact, I sync 3 iPhones with my iTunes account.
I'm not sure if you can set up two iTunes accounts on one computer. Once you answer that you'll know how to proceed.

A good rule-of-thumb for TM backup space is 2x your source drive (or, at least how much of it you tend to fill). So, in your case that would be 320GB. You could create that size partition, then leave the rest of the 500 available for other things.
If Time Machine doesn't have a partition assigned for backup, as soon as it's mounted, TM will as if you want to use it for backup. Then, select the 320GB partition (or, if nit doesn't ask, just go to System Preferences > Time Machine and select it. Also, if you things that don't need to be backed up, you can use the TM Options so exclude them.
As for partitioning your external drive, use Utilities > Disk Utility. Select your drive (not it's partition), then the Partition tab. Tell it to create 2 partitions, then you can eiher drag the divider to change their size, or type in the desired size. Select Mac OS Extended (journaled) for the format. Click on Options and make sure to select GUID as the partition map.

Most certainly unregistered. My 2009 shipped with 6x2GB and those are unregistered chips. I don't expect any of the Apple ones to be registered but the 8GB sticks.
This is correct.
Thanks guys!

If you know anyone with an external superdrive then you can use it. I know that the external super drives that were released with the macbook air works with the mini too.

A friend has cracked the glass on her 2G iPod Touch, other than that its fine, so i'm wondering, is this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Screen-Glass-Digitizer-Replacement-Fr-iPod-Touch-2nd-2G-/110587959445?pt=UK_CE_MP3Access_RL&hash=item19bf8e5895) all i need to get to swap in, obviously swap the button over too, but am i gonna walk into any difficulties? Obviously i'm confident enough to offer to do this, but i mean peeling stuff off with risk to break etc?
Cheers

Question about the InCase Slider. I like to also have a screen protector on my device and I'm wondering if I can get the screen protector on and still use the InCase Slider. I was able to do this with the older Gen iPod Touch but I just want to make sure the screen protector doesn't start to peel around the sides because of the case.

Just copy the data to the external, make sure it is there and then delete it from the internal HD.
That easy huh? Thanks! I can always drag it back to my MacBook HD right if I have a customer who wants a specific photo? Thanks!
