I'm using Lion server.
Call me a noob if you will, but I just can't get my self hosted site to work outside my LAN.
How do I set it up so that others can access it from my co.cc domain?
It's being stored in the WebServer folder I believe, and fed from the .local domain.
Thanks...

Your setup is fine. You only need to add an addtional step:
1.In yr external HDD create a directory DCIM.... For test purposes, add some photos in there
2. Create another folder /DCIM/100VIDEO if you wish to transfer videos to your iPad. For test puposes add a mov or avi or mp4 inside
3. I assume your term "self-powered USB.." means it has an external power source to run yr external HDD
4. Fire up yr iPad..camera roll will auto detect yr photos & videos followed by a prompt if you would like to import same to yr iPad.
You can also see yr ext HDD mounted in iFile...there you can copy paste... ie invoices pdfs to the appropriate folder etc

I didn't get "video to TV" from that. Connect to TV, yes. I'm guessing for music/pics, but not video.

I recently installed Windows 7 with Bootcamp & Parallels too.
One of my Windows applications wants to be installed using the Administrator account.
I assume that when I boot with Bootcamp that I'm in my "user" account.
How do I get to the Admistrator account, & what about a password. Regarding password, I read via a Google search that a blank password will not work.

you can send a one time contribution to invoice@macrumors.com or use Amazon.
Alternatively - to support the site (but not get any special status) you can just buy stuff through the shop when you buy stuff in the future.

Howdy...
I've got a 2009 Mac Pro and I have all 4 of my Hard Drive bays filled currently with a mixture of 1TB and 2TB drives. I wanted to start swapping some of my smaller 1TB drives for some of the new larger 3TB drives. I went on NewEgg and was reading that certain operating systems are having a hard time addressing drives with over 2 TB of storage (the system only sees 2.12 TB or something like that of a 3TB drive). Has anyone had luck installing a 3TB drive in a Mac Pro and had the system recognize the entire disk? If so which brand and are you happy with it? I'm running Snow Leopard with all the most recent updates.
I also run my large iTunes library and store quite a few files on my boot drive, and while everything seems to run efficiently I've heard from some people that booting with ONLY the operating system from a SSD really makes the experience snappy. Wondering if anyone out there does this and how they like it.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Just a followup. As expected iOS 4.3.2, which was just released yesterday, fixed the 3G connectivity bug on my Verizon iPad 2.

Then try Disk Utility and delete the Windows partition, then drag the divider of the Mac OS X partition to the bottom.
what exactly should be done there is no "delete" should i erase or what and when you say drag the driver down what is meant to be done

My brother's cat loves packages, perhaps more than boxes. As soon as a package is delivered, she jumps on top and wants it opened. It then becomes her new nap spot. Recently, she guarded a couple packages of computer parts for me. Cats..funny creatures.

Hey Guys,
So i finally took the plunge the other night, and ordered my mac pro online. plus I ordered an OCZ vertex 2 60GB drive (as thats all budget would allow after the MP)
No obviously the SSD is to be the boot drive, but heres the thing, i will be putting in a further 500GB and 250GB drives, its for music production.
BUT
Firstly, as its only a small SSD i obviously want to keep it as minimal as possible, so its gonna be OSX and logic... i see talk of user folders and such... could some one explain this to me, how full its likely to get and also how important it would be to keep them together?
and as part two of that question, what is the absolute bare minimal i can put on to the ssd, as far as OSX goes, and importantly logic, (im assuming that logic and plugins need to be on ssd)
And the next question.
I would like to keep a copy of the ssd on the 250GB which is only to be used as a scrap drive anyway. so what would be the best way of doing that? partitioning 60GB and 190GB, and using the 60GB as the place to superduper! copy the ssd to every so often.
And as the second part to that question, can i have it set up so that if the ssd was to fail, it would auto boot from the back up?
I realise this is abit long. but any help help would be amazing guys.

Hummm... It's 1" wide. The connector in the PB is a flex cable and both it and the drive butt up against the logic board. I can't see how that adapter board could possibly fit.
If someone's done it, I'd highly recommend the OP try and find a picture of the install in the PB, before committing to a SATA.
It's a nice idea, though, as it does have more options for capacity.

Starting to wonder if I should just make the MacPro the server for the group to access and then back-up everything with Time Machine to the NAS. The problem is that the I was going to set the MacPro drives set-up as a JBOD, so I'm not very fault tolerant, but my back-up NAS would be RAID-6 with Time Machine's multiple back-ups. Hmmmm...

That's great. It's an awesome image so I love that it's flashing up now, for the world to see. :)
Very cool.
Glad you like it MJ ;) Do you guys think it would look better if the apples flashed in a more random order?

It does VGA at 1280x768, takes in two component (1 HD and the other 480p) and the standard composite and s-video and coaxial. The picture is really great on this, one tiny stuck pixel I can't even see now. (I feel I should be totally honest)
I have it listed here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006I5QY/102-3882792-5235300?v=glance&n=172282) but I'd be willing to cut a deal if you drop me a PM.
(BTW, this is widescreen, so it would look great with one of those new xbox 360s I know are out there)
