I am lost when looking at these examples. I really don't know too much about programming with IOS, so that may be what is confusing me. I will just wait awhile until more developers can use it and write tutorials.
Thanks

First, I'm sorry this is in the wrong forum. I looked around a bit and couldn't find anything directly related and guess the Mac Pro forum would be a good place to start. If this thread needs to be moved thats just fine.
I'm about to jump on the bandwagon and start a development project. What I'm looking for is a simple development platform that will help me to simply develop the project and use it on as a web application, iphone and android app, and ideally to have a desktop version for pc and mac. File storage would be through Amazon.
I'm willing to tackle a project but I think its best to start with the right tools. Any tips?

If you mount the disc on OS X and see the ISO file you did it wrong. Download Burn OS X and make sure you burn it as a disc image not a file.

So I can't seem to find a definitive answer to my question online in various searches. Two times recently when I started my Mini it beeped first before starting up. The first time was definitely the three beeps, as if bad memory. I have 3GB, 1 GB is the original memory + 2GB from OWC. I have had the memory in the mini for more than a year. I do have 8GB of memory available, just been to lazy to tear open the mini & put it in.
Today, a few days after the 3 beeps, the Mini started with a series of beeps. I am sure it wasn't the 3 beeps, more like 4 or more I think. Then it would restart the beep series. This happened a few times, then the Mini started normally.
I also occasionally hear a scratching like noise come from the mini every now & then.
Just wondering if anyone here had any ideas. I do have Applecare on the machine ( I got it the very last day ), so I am assuming Apple will help. I also have an Apple store relatively close by, but it's such a crowded zoo, that I'd rather avoid that if possible.
Thanx

XtremeMac have just announced the AirPlay FM transmitter (http://www.xtrememac.com/pr_images/011105/index.shtml) for the iPod - looks like an excellent rival to the iTrip: no installation of playlists needed and doesn't cover the hold switch, both of which are annoying features of the iTrip, and the same model fits iPods and minis.

Have you tried any of these steps?
Mac doesn't boot (http://guides.macrumors.com/Mac_doesn't_boot)
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1417)
Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1367)
I've tried just about everything. Right now I have a new hard drive in my daughters computer with a fresh install of snow leopard. I put the drive in my macbook pro and did the install and it was running perfect. Switched it to her computer and just the apple logo and the spinning wheel.

I'm not really surprised about helping out locals, as I imagine most places were.
I'm more surprised about their "write-off" attitude; that they would whatever was needed for someone to get somewhere... impressive.

Just shows people from other countries have far more imagination and creativity than Americans do. Kinda sad. The country the iPad was created in couldn't find any more use for the iPad.

Anyone know what the Chrome logo is actually supposed to represent? A melted down Windows logo? Google's answer to Apple's spinning beach-ball of death?

We already have outright handsets here in Australia...try buying one here (perhaps off eBay), but make sure it's unlocked (not locked to any network). Not 100% sure if an Australian iPhone would work in the States, though I can't see why it wouldn't.

Might want to reread the original post.
Thanks. I did misread it, thinking he wanted to use his iMac disc on the MBA.

You may just be best off using an online service. They have easy to use templates on their websites and the prices are pretty cheap. It may be cheaper to have them printed professionally than print them yourself (cost of the card stock and ink). Plus they'll look and feel much more professional. You can always find good deals on them and there are plenty of promotions if you search RetailMeNot.com, dealspl.us, or other deal sites.

I think it would be great to see, which devices from apple all of you have!
The Program, what i'm talking about: http://www.mactracker.ca/
Can also be downloaded on the Mac App Store for free! :)
Would be cool, if you post a screenshot of the list "My Models".

I bought a new 16GB nano yesterday. I like to doze off with some music playing and having my current gen 64GB iPod Touch smash on to my tile floor would be a disaster
That being said I had an older 4th generation Nano which I loved to death (literally, the battery was really showing signs of age) and decided to move on.
At first I didn't think I was going to like the new 6th generation Nano "touch" as I've gotten so used to the click wheel that I could navigate it without opening my eyes. A spare iPhone 3GS headset fixed that partially so the volume is easily controlled and basic track skipping by clicking the mic button.
I'm still getting used to it, but it's small size is amazing and I must admit the clip does come in rather handy as I know it won't slide and come crashing to the floor. Even if it does, it's far less expensive to replace than my iPod Touch.
I wish (and I may be shot for saying this) that Apple should take a note or two (or just buy the IP entirely) from RIM and the BlackBerry Storm for a "SurePress" click wheel or just bring the wheel back in the next version.
That way, us click wheel lovers will still have the greatest Nano ever. :apple:

I agree with Jessica.
Maybe if you made a game out of it or something like,
outlet-bad=vibrate if you touch
cat-good=ding if you touch
mean cat-bad=don't touch, if you do it vibrates
stove top-bad=pass by DING
You can use this as a learning tool or make a game where you have to decide on a speed test or something. I can see some potential with something like that, not as simple as you wanted maybe, but this would appeal to a wide range of people.
I'll be expecting my 30%
Thank you. :D

The CPUs bench pretty close to the same.
Late2009 - i7-860 - 5,566
Mid2010 - i7-870 - 6,101
Mid2011 - i5-2500 - 6,469 (This CPU is 3.3GHz, the iMac i5-2500S runs at 2.7GHz.)
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html
There are no benches out for the i5-2500S in the iMac yet, which runs at 2.7GHz so the closest for right now is that i5-2500 at 3.3, when you factor in the downclock they probably bench right around the same.

Go with BF.
The request was for something with reasonable single player. So that leaves BF out. UT2004 does have reasonable single player though, so go with that.

I think this could actually mean expansion into the in-car Mac niche. If they have a suitable frontend for a "Media Centre" (nodd to our euro brothers ;) ) they could use the same techniques for an in-car computer.
I know with the widget intergration you could have a rather custom and sweet looking iTunes interface for your car.
Anyone know if voice commands work with iTunes?

that rely isn't a useful guide at all. there are a lot more steps before and after. Not all of the info is even correct.

I use a pre-HDMI Mini and have no problems with a Sony Bravia LCD projector or a Sony Bravia 40" LCD via VGA.
