They know good products?
BTW. If all you can occupy your time with in line is count races then maybe you should bring a gameboy or a book.

Isn't it a matter of just installing it from scratch, and then restore user (incl. applications) from a Time Machine backup? That's how I installed Lion, and it has worked great at least a number of times; Leopard to Snow Leopard, Snow Leopard to Lion DP1, and to DP2.
Am I missing anything by not installing all from scratch?

I have attached what i have done so far (not on the web yet).
Please could i have some feedback on the design... what's bad, goood, what could be improved and HOW?
The website is for people aged 15-21.
Somethings that i plan on doing is in the box on the right hand doing something like the attached, i'm just trying to work out how at the moment.
Please note, this is my first time making my OWN CSS styleshet, i normally edit a template.
Thanks!:D

My mom just gave me her old 3G iPhone. I have no intention of using it as a phone, but would like to use some of the apps available to filmmakers. Having never really looked into the iPhone, I'm not really aware what is out there but thought folks here might have some good recommendations.
I work as a camera assistant, production manager and a wear a couple different hats on set, so anything that applies to production could be right up my alley.
I've seen a few depth of field calculators already and a couple apps to assist with cg, but would love any and all opinions.
Thanks.

There's gotta be some sort of newer solution than OggDrop for this purpose, or if there isn't, surely an AppleScript can be created to automate this task. I have the Ogg components for QuickTime installed, as well as QuickTime 7 Pro. I've tested the export function in QuickTime also, which works perfectly - creating a nice Ogg Vorbis file. Surely there's a way to automate a mass-convert job of over 12,000 files using this approach... Google searches have proved fruitless.

I see people talking about just buying an Air and returning it. What exactely is the policy if they buy online? Are these people paying restocking fees for simply returning an Air??

The PowerBooks span between their own inbuilt screen and a second (external) screen.
I can't imagine it'd be all that possible/easy to span between two external screens with a PowerBook though. :)

They used a sample from the song "What Am I Going To Do" by The Dovers. This single makes me extremely excited for his new album. I haven't ever really gotten into Deerhunter or Atlas Sound, but this single just might be good enough for me to try out both artists again.

Hey,
Is there any way I can hide repies to people that are on my ban list? Some of the more inflamatory posts are really toxic and I don't need to see responses to trolls.
Thanks,
Adrian

I got my powersupport crystal in the mail yesterday and it worked great on the front of my phone. On the back it worked well but it wont stick in the top corner. Is there a way to get it to adhere or am I SOL?
I use powersupport and nearly every PS installation will do this and it's super easy to fix. Drag your thumb nail (nail side of your thumb down) slowly over the bubble area, starting a half inch from the trouble spot until your nail slides off the phone. Keep working it and it'll get smaller and smaller then disappear. After each nail drag press with your thumb HARD on the spot and rub around slowly. Then drag again.

I'm planning to do the same. I'm hoping *someone* is queuing there that early.
Booked the afternoon off just to get Appletastic. I still don't exactly know why.
I'll be in a Chapelfield Apple Tee and girls' hair, rockin' an iPad 1 in the best red case in the universe.
I've really got to have the self control not to buy a smart cover!

You can use a shellscript to make it easier:
mount -t smbfs //user@server/sharename share
this wil require you the make a folder named "share" in the user folder
This wil also work, put it in login items if you want to log into it when you log on
tell application "Finder"
open location "smb://user:password@computername/sharename"
end tell

I'll be getting off of work early to go to La Cantera and pick up Leopard on the 26th....
Do you think it's going to be packed? I know it wasn't really that packed when I bought an iPhone on the 29th.
I do believe that more people will show up for Leopard, since when the iPhone launched it was priced as a luxury item. Yet again, I've never been at an Apple event in La Cantera.
Is it any different from other Apple Store events? Any tips you could give, like best hour to arrive, etc?

Seeing as the new update is out, has battery life been fixed? I'm on 4.3.1 as didn't want to upgrade to 4.3.2 due to everyone saying how the battery life was so bad should I upgrade to this one?

I'd suggest a mixture of UniPro and Psilocybin's remedies.
Dropbox for files that you may need to edit/update/sync then use MobileMe to sync your settings, keychain, etc...
You could also use iDisk to sync files but I prefer Dropbox for this part of the process.
Hope to help,

In addition I would trash anything in the servers folder in the system folder. The network browser tends to put recently connected server aliases in this folder. Sometimes the chooser and network browser won't clean up after each other.
